Overall, this watch is great. I've used it snow shoe camping, mountaineering, hiking, running, biking and bragging! ;)

Cons:
The GPS can take upwards of 5+ minutes to "Lock On" to the satellites. I usually put it on the "1 second fix" setting before turning on the GPS, then once it's locked on change it back to "1 minute fix" or "manual" depending on my activity. Once it's obtained an initial lock, subsequent locks seem to be faster.

Battery life on the 1 second fix setting is low, 6 hrs, just as advertised. But for most of my activities, the 1 minute or manual fix options provide plenty of battery life.

The watch offers a lot of features and as such there's a learning curve. Expect to spend a few hours playing with it.

The user manual could use some work...

The watch is not compatible with the mac version of TOPO!

You can't pull your track log directly from TOPO! (pc version). You have to pull the log using Trek Manager, export to a txt file, then import into TOPO!. This probably isn't the watches fault but instead TOPO!s.Pros:
Once the GPS is locked on, it will track you anywhere. It works great in deep forest. It works great on the top of or in the shadows of mountains. It works in a car. It works in the city. I've never not had it work, except indoors, but then why would you use a GPS inside?

The navigation function for following pre-set routes and finding waypoints is great. Even better is the track back feature. It also provides quite a few in-flight statistics that are often helpful in estimating arrival time, duration, course error, etc.

I really like the sun rise, sun set feature. I wish this feature had an alarm, but since the watch has 3 alarm settings it's not too hard to manually set sun rise/set alarms. I wish it had tide and moon rise/set info as well.

The altimeter/barometer/temp work well, though i'm not a heavy user of these features but they serve my purposes fine.Summary:
I really like this watch. But keep in mind it's a watch and cannot be expected to outperform handheld units. For me, using this in conjunction with a map & compass has worked out great as it helps provide that sanity check on position. I feel confident enough with this watch that I could navigate in a blizzard and make it back again. In fact, I did just that last week.

Product Description:
Small and lightweight, the Suunto X10M wrist-top computer watch combines an altimeter, barometer, compass, and GPS navigator, making it a terrific companion for outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes. The X10M--which builds on Suunto's decade of experience in creating cutting-edge outdoor devices--stands above most other wrist-top computers thanks to its improved, faster GPS fixes. Even under heavy foliage, you can use the X10M to plot your treks, navigate to a certain spot, or get back to your car, all while keeping your hands free to hold a hiking stick or water bottle. Once back at home, you can share your treks on Google Earth, or use the Suunto Trek Manager PC software to create new routes and plan new journeys.
The Suunto X10M also includes a built-in altimeter, which displays your current altitude and your vertical ascent and descent rate. Accurate to within 30,000 feet, the altimeter is an extremely valuable tool for mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and wilderness travel. The altimeter contributes to your excursion in several ways. If you're standing on or near an obvious geographic feature, such as a ridge, trail, or creek, the altimeter can alert you to your current elevation and help you find your position on a topographic map. Similarly, if you plan on climbing a slope to a certain elevation and then traversing, the X10M can help you stay on course. And, of course, the X10M captures all your altitude information in its integrated logbook, making it easy to analyze your performance when creating a training routine.

The Suunto X10M watch includes an altimeter, barometer, compass, and GPS navigator. The X10M's barometer, meanwhile, measures and records air pressure to help you predict changing conditions--from sunny skies to hair-bending electrical storms. The barometer helps you decide whether to bring a soft shell or rain shell jacket when the skies look ominous, or even when to high-tail it back to the car. In general, low pressure brings inclement weather, while high pressure brings stability and clear skies. If you've arrived at camp and notice the pressure starting to plunge, it's probably a good idea to secure the tent and crawl in. Likewise, if you're on a climb, it would be prudent to find shelter and retreat. Even at home, the X10M's barometer can look beyond office walls, skyscrapers, and nearby hills to help you plan for upcoming activities.
And no outdoor watch is worth its salt without a digital compass, a great tool for keeping track of your direction while skiing, hiking, or exploring a new city. Simply point the top of the watch toward your intended destination and lock it in. Other features include an Activity Mode that records your speed, distance, and altitude information, along with any memory points you define along the way; a Track Back mode that guides you back the same way you came; a long-lasting battery; up to 50 routes, 25 tracks, and 500 waypoints; water-resistance up to 330 feet; and all the standard watch functions, including a 12/24-hour display, a stopwatch, a calendar clock, and three daily alarms. As with all Suunto wrist-top computers, the X10M carries a two-year warranty.

About Suunto
Suunto was founded in 1936 by outdoors man and a keen orienteering enthusiast, Tuomas Vohlonen, who had long been bothered by a problem: the inaccuracy of traditional dry compasses and their lack of steady needle operation. Being an engineer with an inventive turn of mind, he discovered and patented the production method for a much steadier needle, better readings, and a new level of accuracy.
By 1950 the company was exporting compasses to over 50 countries around the world, including Canada and the United States. In 1952, Helsinki was hosting the Olympic Games, and the torches carried to light the Olympic flame were Suunto products. The next step was improving the stability and accuracy of marine compasses. The first marine compass, the Suunto K-12, was launched onto the market in 1953. In 1957, Suunto started manufacturing hypsometers, which measure the height of trees.
In the 1960s, the compass range grew further and Suunto introduced its first diving compass--initiated by the divers themselves. A British sports diver attached a Suunto compass to his wrist and found that the device also worked underwater. Thanks to his feedback and initiatives, the new business category was found. Suunto's exports and business grew steadily and Suunto then focused on combining its strength in precision mechanics with new skills in electronics. Accuracy, reliability, and ruggedness have been Suunto's key values from the very beginning of the company history.
Today, Suunto is a leading designer and manufacturer of sports instruments for training, diving, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, sailing, and golf. True to its roots, Suunto is today the world's biggest compass manufacturer. Prized for their design, accuracy and dependability, Suunto sports instruments combine the aesthetics and functionality of watches with sport-specific computers that help athletes at all levels analyze and improve performance. Headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, Suunto employs more than 500 people worldwide and distributes its products to nearly 60 countries. The company is a subsidiary of Helsinki-based Amer Sports Corporation with the sister brands Wilson, Salomon, Atomic, Precor, and Mavic.

Love this watch just got it ,little getting use to at the beginning at setup ,10 minutes later you get it .quick setup use Google earth for altimeter and compass setup, find a website for the magnetic declination adjustment , 4 degree deference in my case ,now I am at the playing stage ,compass azimuth are pretty cool, use the lcd screen and listen to the beep when you use the azimuth and the little lcd arrow point you in the direction you set it, its freaking cool ,once I find my exact altitude on Google earth ,started to play with that .its a beautiful watch that looks like a regular watch ,that turns to a hiking climbing diving ...... watch , but you would not know it by looking at it .It is on the thick side ,so if you want a thin cute little watch ,this is not it .

WaterRower Natural Rowing Machine in Ash Wood with S4 Monitor Review

WaterRower Natural Rowing Machine in Ash Wood with S4 Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The waterrower is an excellent machine that is exceptionally designed and provides an outstanding workout.I have owned one for about 10 years, and my wife and I both use it regularly. In the entire time I've owned it, the only parts I've had to replace have been the monitor batteries and the double-sided tape that fastens the monitor wire brackets to the frame.I found the workout it provides to be deceptive at first--until I stood up after using it the first several times, I didn't realize just how intense the workout had been!If you've used other rowing machines, you're in for a treat when you try this one--there is absolutely no shock to the shoulders or arms at the beginning of a stroke (even from rest). The footrest is rock solid and easily adjustable for foot size; the frame is long enough to accommodate very tall rowers (I've had friends up to 6' 4" use it without banging into the stops); the components are rugged and last a long time (at least 10 years so far); and the seat is about the most comfortable I've found on any rowing machine. It's also quiet--the only sound from the machine is the sound of rushing water (rather appropriate). And when you're done with your workout, it easily tips upright for rolling into a convenient corner until the next time you're ready to use it.This machine definitely deserves five stars.I've also used a `Concept2' fan-resistance rower at a local gym that I'd rate at a 4, and a Brookstone folding rowing machine that I rated a 2 at best--but only because I was feeling generous at the time I entered that review on Amazon.com.Although this machine is expensive, if you're serious about working out on a rowing machine, this is definitely the one to get.

Product Description:
Rowing has long been recognized as the perfect aerobic pursuit, with naturally smooth and flowing movements that don't tax the joints but do boost the heart rate. Now you can take your rowing experience to the next level with the WaterRower Natural rowing machine. Using the same principles that govern the dynamics ofa boat in water, the WaterRower Natural is outfitted with a "water flywheel" that consists of two paddles in an enclosed tank of water that provide smooth, quiet resistance, just like the paddles in an actual body of water. As a result, the machine has no moving parts that can wear out over time (even the recoil belt and pulleys don't require lubricating or maintaining). More significantly, the water tank and flywheel create a self-regulating resistance system that eliminates the need for a motor. As with real rowing, when you paddle faster, the increased drag provides more resistance. When you paddle slower, the resistance is less intense. The only limit to how fast you can row is your strength and your ability to overcome drag. And unlike conventional rowing machines, which tend to be jerky and jarring, the WaterRower Natural is remarkably smooth and fluid.
From a fitness perspective, the WaterRower Natural works 84 percent of your muscle mass, helping tone and strengthen your muscles while burning far more calories than most other aerobic machines. The exercise is also low impact, as it removes all the body weight from the ankles, knees, and hips, but still moves the limbs and joints through a full range of motion--from completely extended to completely contracted.
The WaterRower Natural is outfitted with a Series 4 performance monitor that's designed to balance technical sophistication with user-friendliness. The monitor--which includes six information and programming windows, six QuickSelection buttons, and three navigation buttons--displays your workout intensity, stroke rate, heart rate, zone bar, duration, and distance. Plus, the monitor is compatible with an optional heart rate chest strap and receiver, which helps you optimize your workout and achieve your exercise objectives.
The WaterRower Natural is handcrafted in solid ash and stained honey oak for consistency of color. The wood was chosen due to its marvelous engineering properties, especially its ability to absorb sound and vibration, which enhances the WaterRower's quiet performance and smooth operation. Ash, like all woods used in the construction of the WaterRower, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. In addition, the wood is harvested from replenishable forests and is hand finished with Danish oil to provide a deep luster.
Other details include dual rails with four corner wheels that increase seat stability and reduce the amount of sweat buildup; a frame that flips upright for handy storage; and a weight capacity of up to 1,000 pounds. The WaterRower Natural measures 84 by 21 by 22 inches (W x H x D), weighs 117 pounds (with water), and carries a one-year warranty on the frame and components (WaterRower will upgrade the warranty to five years on the frame and three years on the components with the completion of a registration form).

Excellant product that offers outstanding lower back releif.Only problem is the price, which tends to be far more than what is should take to manufacture and sell at a profit.Nonetheless, if you have lower back disk and muscle pain, and have found little other relief, this is worth exploring.I used it at my gym for over a year before purchasing.

Stamina 7200 Magnetic Fusion Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

Stamina 7200 Magnetic Fusion Recumbent Exercise Bike
Average Reviews:

It took 2 1/2 hours to set this up... minus 1/2 hour to cook and feed my little one... so 2 hours... breaking it down to the main events:
Package weight was 111 pounds and was sent (prime) 2nd air shipping.Package is how a 111 package would look after being shipped, but was not damaged, just scrapped here and there, insides were 100% fine.

1 - Unpack - took 1/2 hour to unpack, remove plastic and carboard from the items... also was bagging the trash and taking my time... the first thing i did was to make sure the peddles move because someone else said they were jammed... and they moved fine. figured if mine were jammed too it would be a quick repack and send back.

2 - assembly - took 1 1/2 hours... took my time... I used a socket set I had, there tools were fine, but my work bench was 20 feet away... ended up with 2 extra bolts (?!?!!) but every slot is full and it works fine.

3 - use - did a 5 minute rep on it... I used to bike ride when I was younger... but alot has changed I guess... it was comfortable... and I went up across and down a mountain.... it could be set for how long of a routine... in the future I'm doing 20 minutes... but this is real nice, and comfortable... a real nice find.

About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.
The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

Body Solid EXM1500S Single Stack Home Gym Review

Body Solid EXM1500S Single Stack Home Gym
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
During High School and in the military, I did a lot of weight training.Ok, I'm not 16 nor 21 anymore.I'm now in my 40's and am an active cyclist, and skier.I bought this machine based upon the Consumer Reports write ups (it was rated number one) so my wife and I can quickly and easily do some strength training. My key requirements were size, Lat and Leg exercises and Durability/Quality.Only way to review this is to break it down a bit:

Assembly:A lot of parts, Directions are passable, but not great.Biggest problem I had was determining which bolt for which hole.It took a good 4 hours to assemble, and I'm pretty good at this kind of stuff.

Customer Support:Had a plate break in shipping, and it took under 2 minutes to get to a human being. (you deal with body solid directly for support.)He made note that a plate was broken and asked me to finish assembly and give him a call back, to make sure I didn't need anything else.I finished up, and had no other issues.Called back to his direct extenision and he drop shipped the plate from the warehouse.I'd say that was great service.

Exercises:
Leg Exercises - Leg lift for Quads is great. The standing one legged hamstring curl, took a bit to get used to but given the small size of the machine, I'll take it.
Bench Press - Very smooth, and you get two hand positions, one for more inner pec and the other for more outer.Downside is that the start position is a little far back, but now that I think about it, I may have the bench arm on backwards. Doh!
Lats/Back - This is where I believe this machine earns it keep.It provides a Lat pulldown, and a seated row position. This was key to me and it performs as expected.(note I'm using this for toning and not body building.A 160 pound stack works for me.)
Shoulders/Arms - The curl bar thats included does has a static handle, so its not good for curls. You will need to purchase a bar that has rotating handles.Since I use dumbbells for these exercises, it didn't matter much.I'm ordering a single rotating curl bar, so my wife can add some exercises.

Overall, I'd say its a great value for someone who wants a smaller in home machine to cover a lot of exercies, and wants to add strength training to their workout. If your looking to get 'Pumped Up', you'd be better with Free weights or a Gym membership.I looked for a used one, but they didn't last very long and had a pretty high resale value.I am certainly happy with my purchase, and now need to flip that bench press attachment around.

Polar FT60G1 Men's Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G1 GPS Sensor (Black with Red Display) Review

Polar FT60G1 Men's Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G1 GPS Sensor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have now had the Polar FT60, together with a GPS unit, for about 9 months.I initially got it when I got frustrated with trying to come up with regularly increasing routes for my marathon training long runs using Google Maps.In short, it does the job: it has all of the normal HR monitor features of most running-oriented Polar watches (hear rate, calories, training programs, etc.), and it tracks your mileage, pace and speed.

But it does all of that in a not particularly elegant way. Here are my gripes with it:

(1) The monitor displays only one essential measurement at a time: for example, HR, distance, speed, etc.So you cannot, for example, see your heart rate and mileage at the same time.In fact, the two readings are something like 4 or 5 clicks of a very awkward button apart.

(2) Speaking of awkward, the buttons are awkward, as they tend to be on most (in my experience) Polar watches.

(3) The screen is very dim.You have to be in good light to be able to read it.The backlight is downright useless. It might work alright in complete darkness (I haven't tried), but it does nothing at night on a city street.

(4) The GPS navigator often tends to take a long time to link up to a satellite.I live in a big city, so I can imagine there are interferences, but it is the worst performance from a GPS navigator I have seen.Once on a trip to London, I stood on a street corner on a chilly morning and waited for the thing to locate a satellite and just gave up and went on a run.At some point, it did figure out where it was.

(5)It's not a huge problem, but I do find it a bit annoying that the GPS unit is a separate piece of plastic that you have to strap to your arm.I don't find it to be particularly heavy or constricting, but I do find it annoying that you have to keep up with one extra unit (particularly for when you have to travel) and its battery gauge is unreliable (so I have run out of battery (AAA) out on a run - not the end of the world but annoying).

(6) And, finally, it does not sync with Macs AND you have to buy a separate USB communicator unit.I can't comment on the quality of the syncing interface or the exercise log software because I have never bothered buying the sync unit because I do not want to have to fire up Windows on my Mac just for this or to be restricted to using it only on my office computer.

I understand Garmin Forerunner 310XT is not perfect (my wife has one and has recently had some syncing issues), but between the two, I would pick the Garmin, which doesn't have most of these issues:

(1) the monitor is large, clear and displays several readings at the same time (there is definitely room for that);

(2) its buttons are water sealed and have a nice easy click to them;

(3) the monitor is bright and the backlight is extremely bright;

(4) it seems to home in much more quickly (at least that's my experience on our runs together) and if it detects that you are not where you were last time, it asks if you have traveled more than 500 miles, which I guess helps it find a satellite; the GPS unit also seems to be more precise - one of my tennis partners wears one and the unit even told him how much he had run in a match; whereas my Polar unit "robbed" me of 300 m on a recent 10K run in Central Park;

(5) the GPS unit is built into the watch; although the downside is that the watch itself is much bigger, but it's still pretty light; It would also be appropriate to mention here that the Garmin uses a rechargeable battery that is recharged by putting a USB-powered clip on the watch. One downside is that I believe it's limited to 12 hours of power.

(6) the Garmin syncs with Macs and PCs and has a pretty cool interface that allows you to see your performance (for example, speed or HR) superimposed over a map that shows elevation. This would have been nice when I recently trained for an Alpine half-marathon.

As I mentioned above, my wife did report problems syncing lately. Also, the Garmin is a much larger watch. Finally, a couple of people I know do not wear their Garmins for swim practice, whereas I have found no issues with my Polar watch.

All in all, I would choose the Garmin over the Polar unit and, in fact, plan on doing just that.

First off, the watch includes a Polar Star personalized training program that adapts to your workout habits. By giving you weekly training targets and providing constant feedback, the watch guides you without being too strict, helping you reach your goals more efficiently. The watch also displays heart rate info in several ways, including as a percentage of your maximum heart rate, as beats per minute, and within a graphical target zone indicator. And should your heart rate exceed or dip below your target zone, the FT60G1 will sound an alarm that helps you return to form.
Users will also love the variety of proprietary Polar functions, including ZonePointer, Polar OwnZone, and Polar OwnCal modes. The ZonePointer is an audible and visual feature on the display of your FT60G1 that shows you where your current heart rate sits within your target heart rate zone. The Polar OwnZone mode, meanwhile, provides a customized target zone for individual exercise sessions. Finally, the Polar OwnCal mode shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session, as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can also set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure, helping you achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
It's the G1 GPS sensor that really helps the FT60G1 stand out in a crowd, however. The sensor, which includes a SIRF-III chipset, not only makes it easy to measure your speed and distance, but also offers support for the WAAS system, thereby improving position accuracy to within 3 meters. The shock-resistant G1 runs for up to 10 hours with a pair of AA batteries, or up to 30 hours with an optional lithium battery.
Other watch features include a built-in fitness test that measures your aerobic fitness at rest in just five minutes; a ZoneLock mode that lets you activate a target zone in the midst of training with the press of a button; an OwnCode mode that prevents crosstalk from other heart rate monitors nearby; a recording mode that tracks your average and maximum heart rate, calorie expenditure, distance, and total exercise time, and then puts it in an exercise file (with 100 total files); water resistance to 30 meters; a 12/24-hour clock with a day/week indicator; a built-in backlight; an alarm with a snooze; a low battery indicator; and a Polar FlowLink connection for transferring data between the FT60G1 and a computer. Sporting an attractive black housing with a red display, the watch carries a two-year warranty.
Manufacturer's Warranty
The original purchaser of this heart rate monitor is backed by a limited warranty that states that this product that the product will be free from defects in material or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.

Casio Men's MTG1000-1 G-Shock MT-G Multi-Band Solar Atomic Chronograph Watch Review

Casio Men's MTG1000-1 G-Shock MT-G Multi-Band Solar Atomic Chronograph Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It's a quality good looking watch and you'll be happy with it.
I have some advice for the very start.
1. Before setting anything, charge the battery as some functionality may be disabled.
2. Follow the quick start instructions to set the city time.
3. If the time is wrong you can try the manual setup using the radio signal from the atomic clock. If this doesn't work leave it alone and by next morning it will be OK.
4. Be very patient as it goes on its own pace "slowly". If you try faster it will go crazy. Fortunately it will return to normality after a few minutes of rest.
5. Print the manual from the Casio website or by a microscope to read the booklet and follow the instructions. No one does that.
6. Remember once you leave it alone it will work flawlessly.
I had a hard time when I started playing as soon as it arrived.
I haven't hammered it so the G part we'll see.
Thanks,

Kettler Kadett Outrigger Style Rower Rowing Machine Review

Kettler Kadett Outrigger Style Rower Rowing Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I initially tried to order my Kettler Kadett from a company called Mercantila, a.k.a. Rowingmachines.com.It was a complete disaster and nightmare including some false advertising, trying to cover up some mistakes on their part which caused about a month of delays, some horrible customer service (or lack thereof), some false charges, and a lot of headaches.Eventually enough was enough and I wound up ordering it directly from Amazon, which cost me a few bucks more, but was well worth it.

The machine comes mostly disassembled and took about an hour and a half to put together. There were a few confusing moments as the instructions are only pictures and no text, so making sure you have the right part takes a little extra focus. It came with all the tools necessary except an allen wrench which was necessary for one small thing.

In terms of overall quality, it's very high.I'm not concerned about this thing breaking, nor does it rattle or have ill-fitting parts. That said, the housing for the computer is a little wimpy and doesn't attach very securely to the main body as I've knocked it off a couple times.A small piece of tape at the base has kept it firmly locked into place since.

Some people have complained about the location of the straps on the foot plates.I actually find their location ideal, although they do tend to loosen themselves during a workout.I made a trip down to the store and bought some velcro which I sewed onto the straps. It took 15 minutes to do and I now have the best foot straps in the world.

The best thing about this machine, and the reason I bought it, is that it REALLY DOES in fact mimic an actual rowing motion. When I close my eyes I can actually believe I'm on a boat on the water which makes my workouts much more pleasant. So for anyone with any doubts, you can in fact believe the hype, it IS like rowing a boat.Additionally, all the action is very smooth. The seat is very sturdy and comfortable and it doesn't wobble. The arms are also smooth and the grips spin freely.

One other reason I bought this machine is that I'm very tall and the Kadett adjusts to accommodate my size.It does this by placing the footboards on a center beam that slides inside the central housing. This beam can be adjusted allowing my incredibly long logs to get a full complete extension without the seat hitting the end of it's track.

Although it takes up a lot of space during use due to the outrigger style "oars", it does fold up to the size of a traditional hydraulic rowing machine in about 30 seconds.I keep mine leaned up against a wall and out of the way in an adjacent room, and as it's not very heavy it isn't a big deal pulling it out every morning.

One problem I did discover, is that the numbers on one of my adjustable hydraulic pistons is misaligned. So it was a minor nuisance to set the resistance initially as I had to do it by feel.

In preview, the Kadette appears to be overpriced compared to virtually all other hydraulic rowing machines. But it really is a completely different kind of animal in terms of the rowing action that makes it worth the price tag.It still suffers from a slow start as the pistons come up to temperature like any other hydraulic rowing machine, but the rowing motion is like heaven.

Schwinn 860 Treadmill Review

Schwinn 860 Treadmill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
One thing is for certain when unpacking and placing the 350lb Schwinn 860 Treadmill. It is not for the Wheaties deficient. After going through and deciphering the enclosed instruction manual, I felt a sigh of relief in knowing that my inventory of parts and hardware was complete. That said, after a little tweaking and forty five minutes later the treadmill was up and running. Just a note that if users are storing the unit on a less then desirable surface, the two front feet can be rotated to level the unit.

First off, the designers at Schwinn lose style points for placing the power button on a hard to get to area located on the front end of the base. The easy to read, illuminated and multicolored LCD console is the nerve center that controls program settings, fan, rate of incline, belt speed, profiles, body mass index, quick starts and stop. It includes a menu for setup and diagnostics. The onboard course/circuit/pursuit settings seem to be a bit confusing at first. The manual adds to the confusion. Thankfully this model allows us to customize up two programs. There are a total of 16 programs. The LCD displays actual in progress workout measurements as well as end of workout results.

Powered with a 3.0 horsepower motor, a max speed of 12 miles per hour can be obtained in a matter of seconds. Like most treadmills the incline maxes out at 12 percent. Whether I'm running or walking, the tread surface area is (20" x 58") large. With the programmed workouts and a heart rate monitoring system in place (via the hand grips and chest belt) its all systems go. I'm no expert but I would strongly suggest that users with pacemakers or other electric devices implanted to contact their cardiologist before strapping on this monitor.

Like others I'm sure, we've found that both the pulse and calorie monitoring useful tools. The pulse sensor displays the heart rate in beats per minute from the heart rate monitor. The calories sensor displays estimated calories burned during your workout. While recovering from an injury, I remember my physical therapist telling me that the best way to burn fat away during an exercise is to start at a slow pace and gradually increase the pace so that the heart rate reaches about 60-80 percent of my heart's maximum. Keeping the heart rate in that area for 20 minutes is preferred. The bottom line is the longer the rate is maintained the more fat is burned away.

Overall we were happily surprised at the lack of noise from this unit. Secondly, the suspension is top notch. The two speed, adjustable fan provides an enjoyable, quiet comfort. A great safety feature is the magnetic key. Without the key, the treadmill will not power up. Removing the key will keep the treadmill from operating but it will not shut down the power. That is done manually via the master power switch. Thanks to the lift hydraulics, both storage and cleaning under the unit is a breeze. This model is also outfitted with water bottle holders, magazine rack, and wheels.

Buyers should be aware that like any machinery there are preventative maintenance measures that must be adhered to for safety sake. The instruction manual offers a good basic maintenance schedule. The Schwinn 860 Treadmill carries a ten year warranty on both the frame and motor. Fixed parts carry a two year warranty whereas wear parts have ninety days tacked on. There is a one year warranty on electronic components. Schwinn also provides a toll free customer support number.

All in all, I have to say Schwinn outdid themselves on the 860 Treadmill. This model is as close to the commercial grade systems operating in the gyms that I have worked out in. In the long haul I believe that this unit will exceed users expectations. I know we are sold on it. I will continue to give periodical updates to this review as we progress. In the meantime, I gladly recommend this product.

Product Description:
Are you serious about your athletic training? If so, turn to the Polar RS800CX Bike heart rate monitor watch, which offers a complete system for planning, monitoring, and analyzing every part of your training. This particular version of the RS800CX is equipped with a host of valuable tools, including a built-in altimeter, a WearLink W.I.N.D. heart rate transmitter with a soft textile chest strap, a copy of Polar ProTrainer 5 software, and a CS W.I.N.D. speed sensor designed to help you improve your cycling workouts. As a result, there's no better way for cyclists to create a comprehensive training workout that's efficient and effective. Even better, the watch lets you combine training sessions from different sports into a single file, so you can integrate your cycling workouts with separate running, hiking, and skiing sessions without missing a beat. It's the ultimate multi-sport training watch.

The RS800CX watch is the ultimate training computer for multi-sport athletes. As a heart rate monitor, the RS800CX works by first checking your daily condition, and then guiding you to the ideal training intensity for your age and fitness level. Knowing your heart rate not only helps you reach your personal fitness goal, but also improves your physical condition in general, as it's vitally important to train at the appropriate intensity level. If you exercise too hard, you may quit before you reach the real benefit, but if you work out too leisurely, you'll struggle to lose weight at all. The RS800CX helps overcome these problems by encouraging you to map out a complete fitness routine. The watch also displays heart rate info in several ways, including as a percentage of your maximum heart rate, as beats per minute, and within a graphical target zone indicator. And should your heart rate exceed or dip below your target zone, the RS800CX will sound an alarm that helps you return to form.
The RS800CX also offers a variety of proprietary Polar functions. The ZonePointer, for example, is an audible and visual feature on the display of your watch that shows you where your current heart rate sits within your target heart rate zone. Other proprietary Polar functions include a Polar fitness test that measures your aerobic fitness at rest in just five minutes; a ZoneLock button that activates a target zone alarm while exercising; and an OwnOptimizer mode designed to keep you from undertraining or overtraining--a must when trying to improve overall performance.

The watch comes with the cyclist-specific CS Speed Sensor W.I.N.D. Serious athletes will appreciate in the built-in altimeter, which measures your altitude, cumulative ascent, and cumulative descent. It's the Polar ProTrainer 5 software, however, that really helps the watch stand out. You can use the Polar ProTrainer 5 to plan your workout in advance--including creating maps and routes in conjunction with the G3 GPS sensor (sold separately)--and then transfer the settings to the RS800CX watch. Then, after training, you can analyze the results using versatile, customizable graphs to ensure a deeper understanding of your speed, exertion level, and distance. The software also includes a custom calendar that functions as a complete training log. Each time you transfer an exercise file to the program, the calendar automatically creates a diary entry with all your training data--a terrific option for athletes who want to monitor their workouts over the long term. The software even lets you export your GPS mapping routes to Google Earth, so you can view your exact training route or calculate mileage on the spot.
This version of the RS800CX comes with Polar's CS Speed Sensor W.I.N.D., a wireless bike-mounted sensor that helps you evaluate and analyze your cycling performance. In competition cycling, time is of the essence--you simply can't afford to fall too far behind the pack whether on the open road or in the velodrome. Thanks to the lightweight, aerodynamic CS sensor, however, you can take note of your current, average, and maximum speed readings throughout your training rides, so that you can get it right once the big race arrives. The CS communicates this speed data directly to the RS800CX, which analyzes the data in a variety of ways so that you can hone your long-term performance. The RS800CX also supports other optional W.I.N.D. sensors (sold separately) that are custom built for various training needs. The S3 Stride Sensor, for example, measures every stride you take while running, helping you perform better in competitive situations, while the aforementioned G3 GPS sensor accurately tracks your movement during less-traveled sports, such as canoeing, mountain biking, rowing, or Nordic skiing. With the purchase of all three W.I.N.D. sensors, your RS800CX will become an extremely versatile multi-sport training computer.
Other watch features include several recording options to help track your heart rate, calorie expenditure, distance, and more and save it in an exercise file (with 99 total files); water resistance to 50 meters; a Polar WebLink connection for transferring exercise data from your wrist unit to a computer; a 12/24-hour clock with a day/week indicator; a built-in backlight; an alarm with a snooze; and a low battery indicator. InvertAlign2 Inversion Therapy Table Review

This product is my second inversion table experience. The first was the Teeter hang ups ep 550.. an excellent machine except for one design issue...the ankle foot release mechanism required that you bend down at an awkward angle to release. This was a painful end to a great "hang".I returned the unit and purchased the Invertalign product pictured here."Hanging"incredibly effective way to releive pain and have recommended it to many friends.IF YOU SUFFER FROM BACK PAIN - - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - - THENTRY INVERSION.I would give this product 5 stars except that it does not tilt as smoothly as my first table...the pivot bearings and races (the business end the tilt mechanism) is not the highest quality. Otherwise all materials are good andare appropriate for the cost.
I have used the machine for two months now, once or twice a day and it has held up well, no disappointments or gripes. It is a permanent part of my day.If your are at all in doubt as to how well these machines work, talk to just about any one who has owned one...(to people independently recommended inversion to me).Don't waste another day in pain.I am 52 slightly overweight and am no athlete. I do not like stretching excerises or yoga.Hanging isan easy, simple and a no stress deal. I don't even bother will all the extra stretching. Worth the money. 4stars

BodyCraft F430 Power Rack Review

BodyCraft F430 Power Rack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First of all, excuse my english, I'm from Denmark and don't have time to use a dictonary.
I have owned a bodycraft powerrack for over 1 year. Me and my brother trains 3 times pr. week (full body program).
This powerrack is realy good. The only thing that I don't like about the powerrack is that it is not heigh enough soo that we can perform standing militarypress inside the powerrack. Besides that everything else is just perfect. The powerrack seems solid enough (we dont train that heavy - benchpress 110 kg, ca. 220 lb). there is plenty of space inside the rack, which is a big advantage. I really have only good things to say about this powerrack, except for the lack of posibility to perform standing militarypress inside the rack. It is very easy and fast to change the height of both the spotters and the safepins, which also is a very big advantage. You do also dont need the space that is required for at powerrack where you pull the saftypins out.
Please don't by the cable attachment. I havent got it my self/so I really don't know. But I seriously doubt that there is place to put your bench,to have a spotter (traningspartner) and so on if you include anything else than the powerrack.
But remember to buy the dip sticks. I'm really glad that I included them when I bought the rack.
All you need to train hardcore is this bodycraft powerrack, a really solid bench with leg curl attachment, a good olympic set, a set of dumbells where you can change the weight, a belt where you can hang barbells and a stepbench.
If I should buy another powerrack, I would for sure buy this one again, becourse now I know that this rack is really good.
It is a very good idea to draw on your powerrack (write the names of the diffrent exercises on the rack the right places), soo that you can find vhere the saftypins etc is going to be acording to the difrent exercises, this will save you a lot of time.
This powerrack rocks. Besides the lack of height inside the rack, everything else is just perfect.Me and my brother really love to work out in this perfect piece of equipment. P.s. I havent done any real testing of the strenght of the powerrack (I dont toss around the bar or weights), and we havent lost the grip on the bar jet. sooreally don't know how solid this powerrack really is. But for over a year me and my brother have trained really hard on the rack, and the rack still looks and feels like new. So if you dont lift extreme heavy or throw around with the bar, then I don't think that the rack will ever break.

Stamina 55-2065 Dual Action Elite Programmable Elliptical / Stepper Review

Stamina 55-2065 Dual Action Elite Programmable Elliptical / Stepper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Stamina 55-2065 Elliptical/Stepper is a nice piece of equipment. The assembly was pretty straight-forward. It took about an hour and thirty minutes which I don't think was too bad. This machine is not totally quiet but it doesn't make any squeaking, squealing and/or knocking noises like other ellipticals that I've tried. I love the great workout you get with this machine. It works almost every muscle in my body. The workout programs are quite challenging, which is a good thing. I'm still on Level 1 whereas when I was going to the gym and using their machines I was on Level 5. So this is no easy machine, again, that's a good thing.

Likes:
- Straight-forward assembly
- Very nice looking and sleek design
- Takes up little space and quite compact especially if you want to put it in a small space like a bedroom(where I have mine).
- Two machines in one! It's an elliptical and a stepper and it's easy to switch from one to the other. There's your value right there. No need to buy two machines.
- Well laid out out button controls and clear display
- A nice variety of different settings to try or to challenge yourself. They'll always be a program that will give you the intense workout that you want. So this machine is great for people of all fitness levels.

Dislike:
- The dual action bars tend to be a bit on the wobbly side. No amount of screw tightening seems to alleviate this. I'm not sure if this is normal for this type of machine or my product has a defect of some kind.

Minor or knit-picking gripes ;-):
- I wish there was a heart rate monitor on the dual action bars and not just on the stationary bars.
- I wish the display was backlit.
- I wish the water bottle holder could accommodate thicker sized bottles. I know the machine comes with a bottle but I like to use the one I've always used.

All and all, I'm quite pleased with the Stamina 55-2065. I did months of research to try and find the right elliptical. I read both the positive and negative reviews for other machines and I was scared to purchase one until I came across this one. I'm glad I listened to the reviews and got it. This is a solid machine and will definitely give you the workout you need. No more gym membership for me.

Product Description:
Programmed with 12 workouts and capable of creating and saving four personalized workouts, this machine combines an elliptical strider and a stepper to provide upper- and lower-body exercise in addition to a low-impact cardiovascular workout. A battery-operated monitor displays time, height, weight, RPM, speed, distance, fat percentage, calories burned, metabolism rate, and heart rate. (Heart-rate sensors are built into a stationary hand grip.) Plus and minus buttons (+ and -) on the monitor allow a workout's intensity level to be altered without interrupting the workout. The machine employs a heavy-weighted flywheel-resistance and belt-drive train so it operates silently and smoothly.
The elliptical mode blends stair climbing, cycling, skiing, and walking in a single movement. In forward motion, quadriceps, buttocks, lower abdomen, hips, and thighs are targeted. In reverse motion, hamstrings, lower buttocks, hips, thighs, and calves are targeted. The stepper mode works the same muscle groups with a vertical motion. Switching between modes is quick and easy. In either mode, dual-action handlebars--foam-padded for comfort--add an upper-body workout to tone and firm arms, chest, shoulders, and back. (The stationary hand grip offers an alternative to the handlebars.) A water bottle and bottle holder are positioned on the machine's upright section. The cross-trainer's frame is steel and aluminum. Floor protectors safeguard a workout area and prevent skidding. Assembled (instructions included), the machine measures 46 inches long x 30-3/4 inches wide and weighs 153 pounds.
About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

Today I'm happy with the procuct, but when I first got it, not so much. The machine itself isn't that bad, but the construction of it wasn't the greatest. Within the first week of use, the chain kept getting stuck... it would just sit there rather than being pulled back in. I figured out it was sliding off the wheel and getting jammed so I "fixed" that, but after another week the chain just came off the handle and got sucked in to the metal body. I managed to pull it out, unscrew the fan (which can't be removed), and used a very stiff wire to thread the chain back through the proper mechanisms. It was worth the trouble because it now works better than ever, but we'll see what happens next week.
